New Bedford Repeat Drug Dealer Sentenced to Prison

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A New Bedford repeat drug dealer has been sentenced to three and a half years in state prison, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.
Jovani Abreu-Garcia, 21, pleaded guilty to charges of trafficking in excess of 18 grams of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute suboxone.
Garcia was arrested by New Bedford Police in 2017 after a search of his Spooner Street residence turned up 21 grams of suspected cocaine and numerous tablets of suboxone.
Police also found a digital scale, cut corner baggies, letters of standing and packaging.
According to court documents, Garcia has previously served jail time for conviction on firearm and drug dealing charges.
