Two men arrested after weeklong drug bust in Fairhaven

Fairhaven, Mass.- Two men are in custody after Fairhaven police make a large drug bust in the city.
26-year-old Christopher Serra of Fairhaven and 20-year-old Christopher Brentton of New Bedford were arrest Thursday after detectives witnessed them making a hand-to-hand drug exchange in the parking lot of a local business.
They have since been charged with narcotics violations.
Fairhaven police made the arrests after a weeklong surveillance operation that confirmed numerous drug transactions between the two men.
Following the arrest, police conducted a search of Serr'a Spring Street apartment. During that search they also found over 100 percocet tables and more than $17,000 in cash.
Four other people were subsequently arrested with charges involved in the drug exchange. All four are now facing an array of narcotics violations in Third District Court.
Both Serra and Brentton have been charged with a class-b violation of distributing a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
