Fugitive suspect in child rape case apprehended in Alabama

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – A Bristol County Most Wanted fugitive has been arrested in Alabama, the District Attorney’s office announced.
In the course of an investigation into a child rape case in Fall River, Massachusetts State Police received a tip indicating that Brian Jackson, on the run since May 2018, was hiding out in the town of Goodwater, Alabama.
Jackson is alleged to have repeatedly raped a young female child while living in Fall River.
Massachusetts State Police contacted the Coosa County Sheriff’s office in Alabama with regards to Jackson. Sheriff’s officers arrested Jackson without incident Wednesday evening in Goodwater.
Jackson will be extradited back to Massachusetts to face the following charges:
- Rape of a Child
- Three Counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person Under 14
- Assault and Battery of a Minor
Jackson is expected to be arraigned on these charges in Fall River District Court.
