NBA Discussing Concussion Policy

APNewsBreak: NBA mulling formal concussion policy

      MILWAUKEE (AP) – The NBA says it IS consulting with an
independent neurologist about establishing a league-wide protocol
to handle concussions.
      Currently, each team decides how to treat concussions and when a
player can return to play.n NBA spokesman said Tuesday that
officials are discussing a formal set of steps that would cover all
players.
      Such a move would bring the NBA in line with the NFL and NHL.
      In the last four weeks, at least six NBA players have missed
games because of concussions or concussion-like symptoms. Hornets
point guard Chris Paul was taken off the floor on a stretcher on
Sunday night and his return is day to day.
