UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WLNE) – The Cannabis Control Commission recently gave the green light for more recreational marijuana stores to open in Massachusetts.

The latest, in Uxbridge on Route 16, is called “Caroline’s Cannabis”, and is located right over the Rhode Island border.

The mom-and-pop shop is the 11th to open in Massachusetts, and the first woman-owned retail marijuana business to open in the state.

Doors open Friday at 11 a.m. and the shop will offer flowers, edibles, and pre-roll.

The store is also a country-style boutique. The owner, Caroline Frankel makes signs out of reclaimed wood to spread “the kind word of cannabis”.

There are 50 parking spaces in front of the store, and another parking lot down the road to handle the overflow.

Uxbridge Police will be providing assistance with a traffic detail until things wind down.
