Overnight fire damages Coventry home

COVENTRY, R.I (WLNE) – The Rhode State Fire Marshal is assisting in an investigation of a structure fire that happened Saturday night. 

At 10:58 p.m, the Coventry Police Department, with the Western Coventry Fire Department, and other neighboring districts, responded to a report of a structure fire at 160 Weeks Hill Road. 

Fire personnel arrived on scene to find an active fire and began to extinguish it. 

According to police, Weeks Hill Road was shut down for a period of time to allow the fire departments to work effectively. 

All residents escaped the house. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
