Robert Kraft won’t have to face a judge on soliciting prostitution charges

PALM BEACH COUNTY, F.L. (WLNE) — Bob Kraft will not have to face a judge on the solicitation of prostitution charges. The Palm Beach County State Attorney announcing Kraft’s lawyers can stand in for him.
Robert Kraft wasn’t sitting at home waiting for a warrant for his arrest this weekend. TMZ Sports caught the Patriots owner in California going to Oscars parties. It turns out a warrant for his arrest is not being issued, instead his lawyers already have a summons for his court appearance.
“It’s a summons so he does not have to make a public court appearance,” says Dave Aronberg, the Palm Beach County State Attorney.
That means he likely won’t even have a mug shot taken. Kraft is 1 of 25 men being charged with soliciting prostitution after a wide ranging human trafficking investigation.
But how he’s being treated raising the question of fairness.
“I can assure you that our office treats everyone the same whether you have a lot of money or you are indigent,” says Aronberg.
Police say Kraft was caught on surveillance video receiving sex acts on January 19 and 20, the morning of the AFC Championship game.
The chances that Kraft ever sees a jail cell are slim.
“The bigger consequences here are on his image and reputation on the community legally he’s not going to spend an hour in jail the charges will either be dismissed because of community service, they have a diversion program in Florida or he may pay a small fine,” says Ken Schreiber, a legal analyst for ABC 6 News.
And officials in Florida confirm just that.
“First time offenders are very unlikely to get significant jail time,” says Aronberg.
There have been rumors that there is a bigger name attached to this investigation but the State Attorney says that would be news to him.
Meanwhile, the NFL released a new statement today saying they are seeking a full understanding of the facts. The league plans to take “appropriate action as warranted” based on what they learn.
