Dice-K Shines as Sox Beat the Jays

BOSTON (AP) – Daisuke Matsuzaka allowed three hits in seven
innings and the Boston Red Sox capitalized on more wildness by
Toronto Blue Jays pitchers for a 6-1 win Tuesday night.
Matsuzaka struck out nine and allowed just three runners on a
single and double by John Buck and a double by Fred Lewis. He
walked none, while four Toronto pitchers issued eight bases on
balls one night after the Red Sox drew seven walks in a 7-6 win.
The Red Sox won their third straight as Matsuzaka (2-1) had the
best outing of his three games since coming off the disabled list
after recovering from a neck strain. In each of his other two
starts, he had one terrible inning but was otherwise solid.
Dana Eveland (3-2) gave up all of Boston's runs in four-plus
innings.
