Accused NP Councilman Won’t Resign, Wants Leave of Absence

UPDATE: Raymond L. Douglas III, implicated in the North Providence corruption probe, will not resign, and instead will take a leave of absence.
According to North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi's office, Douglas submitted a letter to the town clerk's office today saying he will not resign from the post. In the letter it stated Douglas will take a “leave of absence.”
The Mayor's office is looking into if that's even possible.

Raymond L. Douglas III, implicated in the North Providence corruption probe, has put in a request to travel to Myrtle Beach, SC at the end of May.
The request to the court is for a period between May 27th and May 30th for a “previously planned vacation” with family members.
Douglas claims the vacation has been planned since March.
