Karen Meyers Named New Anchor on ABC6 News

(Providence-RI) Veteran news anchor and journalist Karen Meyers is joining WLNE-TV / ABC6 in Providence at the anchor desk for the station's 5, 6, and 11pm newscasts.  The announcement was made today in Providence by WLNE-TV Vice President and General Manager Chris Tzianabos.  “Karen's journalistic experience, anchoring/reporting skill and her knowledge of New England make her an outstanding choice for this critical position in our news department,” said Tzianabos. “Karen's skills as a journalist and incredible personality make her a perfect fit for our future plans.”  

A graduate of Boston College and winner of an Edward R. Murrow Award, Karen's wide range of experience includes time as an Anchor/Reporter at WTTG-TV, Washington, D.C;   WXXA-TV, Albany; WNNE-TV, Hartford, Vermont/Hanover, N.H.;  WPTZ-TV Burlington, Vermont/ Plattsburgh, N.Y. and most recently as an anchor for New England Cable News.
