PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pawtucket Fire Department officially launched its new rescue boat on Tuesday.

The boat was donated by the Cooley Group, a manufacturer of high-performance polymeric solutions headquartered in the city.

“This rescue boat will truly help the fire department with our rescue efforts and to cut down on response times in an emergency on the water,” Fire Chief John Trenteseaux said.

The department launched the boat into the Seekonk River via the Festival Pier boat launch.
