PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Hasbro Children’s Hospital announced that its annual Radiothon raised almost $300,000.

The May 11 radio show raised $283,995 which will be used to support patient care and research programs, including Child Life and the Healing Arts.

The hospital said the radiothon featured patient families speaking about their medical journeys with conditions like sickle cell disease, pediatric cancer, and heart conditions.

One such family was that of Hasbro Children’s 2023 Champion Child Ethan James.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital thanked everyone who sponsored and donated during the event as well as the volunteers who answered phones.

“Words alone cannot express the gratitude I have for our partners at Cumulus Providence and for the thousands of people inspired by the day’s stories and moved to make a donation,” Vice President of Pediatric Services for Lifespan Tracey Wallace said.
