Pascoag Fire Department continues training at Lake Shore Drive house
PASCOAG, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pascoag Fire Department has spent the last two weeks using a house on Lake Shore Drive as a training ground.
The department said the house is set for demolition and allowed them to practice skills they normally wouldn’t be able to.
“It is rare that we can actually cut a roof, breech a wall for self-rescue, or ‘turn a window into a door’ to help get someone out of a burning building,” they said.
The department added that they were joined by the Wallum Lake and Oakland Mapleville Fire Departments to join the exercises.
“Thank you to all who played a role in this great training opportunity, and best wishes to the homeowners on their upcoming construction project,” they said.
