Route 6/10 connector reopens ahead of schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that Route 6 east at Route 10 north in Providence has reopened ahead of schedule.

The interchange was closed this weekend as part of the Route 6/10 Interchange project.

The closure was originally supposed to last until Monday morning, but officials say work moved faster than expected.

The department said the $410 million Route 6/10 Interchange project is critical to link travel between Interstate 295, 95, and 195.
