Suspect in 2022 Brockton homicide arrested after 2-car crash in Raynham

RAYNHAM, MASS. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said they’re investigating after a car crash happened on Orchard Street in Raynham Thursday.

According to police, 24-year-old David Lynch, who is on the state police Most Wanted List for his connection to a Brockton homicide that happened in 2022.

Police said Lynch fled from troopers after they found him sitting in his BMW X1 SUV in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Middleborough.

When officers approached Lynch, they said he rammed their two police cars and fled onto Route 44. Officials said they pursued Lynch for a short period of time before they lost sight of him.

After the chase, authorities said Lynch and his passenger, identified as a man, struck a Honda Accord just after 3 p.m. on Orchard Street, resulting in serious injuries to an occupant of the Honda.

That victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. No information regarding their status was immediately released.

WCVB-TV shared aerial footage of the scene of the crash where both damaged cars could be seen stopped as investigators canvassed the scene.

Police said Lynch, who is in now custody along with another occupant of his motor vehicle, was taken to Boston Medical Center under police guard for non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed there was a firearm in the BMW SUV.

The passenger in Lynch’s car is facing charges from the crash, Lynch is facing charges from the 2022 homicide and the crash.

No further information was immediately released.
