Fall River police arrest man after report of shots fired

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police arrested a man early Saturday morning after receiving reports of gunshots near Cambridge Street.

Police responded to the area of Cambridge Street and Mott Street around 3 a.m. and received reports of a man walking with what appeared to be a firearm.

Officers say they arrested Bryan Olmo Colon on Coggeshall Street after finding a Polymer 80 9mm pistol with a large capacity magazine near him. They also found shell casings in the area.

Colon, who is 23-years-old, is being charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
