New Bedford police investigating ‘shots fired’ incident

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford police are investigating a “shots fired” incident that occurred early Friday morning.

The New Bedford Police Union said that officers responded to the area of Liberty Street and Elm Street around 4:30 a.m. on June 16 in response to a Shotspotter activation.

Once on scene, police found evidence of a firearm being discharged in the area.
