WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Dighton man accused of leaking highly classified military documents is set to be arraigned Wednesday.

Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, 21, will be back in federal court in Worcester.

Teixeira was indicted on six felony counts last week in connection to willful retention and transmission of national defense information.

He is accused of leaking documents and military information about the war in Ukraine in a chat room on Discord, a social media platform largely used by gamers.

Teixeira was ordered to stay in jail as he awaited trial. The judge said releasing him would pose a risk to obstruction of justice.

He was arrested by federal agents at his North Dighton home in April.

His former Dighton-Rehoboth classmates told ABC 6 News he was a “good kid, good head on his shoulders” and hung out with a friend group who all wanted to join the military.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
