Mattapoisett Fire Rescue repairs roadside memorial
Mattapoisett, Mass. (WLNE) — The Mattapoisett Fire Rescue repaired a damaged roadside memorial on Route 195 Eastbound Friday.
The department said that the firefighters responded to a rollover crash Friday morning and after assisting with the response discovered that the “vehicle had gone through a roadside memorial where another person had lost their life.”

The firefighters brought the memorial cross back to the station for repairs and cleaning.
They also searched the woods and returned items that were placed at the memorial that had been moved during the crash, including a teddy bear and religious items.
