US Coast Guard speaks on recovery efforts for lost Titan submersible

BOSTON (WLNE) — The United States Coast Guard held a press conference discussing the end of rescue efforts and the beginning of recovery efforts in the investigation into the lost Titan submersible.

According to Coast Guard officials, they are conducting the highest level of investigation possible into recovering evidence from the scene of the wreck, nearly two miles beneath the ocean’s surface at the wreck of the Titanic.

Various international administrations are taking part in the recovery effort and no information regarding their findings will be released until the investigation concludes.

The five passengers aboard the missing Titan submersible “have sadly been lost,” OceanGate told ABC News Thursday.

Hours after the search for the missing Titan submersible passed the critical 96-hour mark, the U.S. Coast Guard said one of its remotely operated vehicles (ROV) found a debris field along the sea floor near the Titanic.
