RIPTA to detour service route for Bristol Fourth of July parade

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority will offer a holiday service on Tuesday for the Fourth of July.
The service will apply to all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys.
RIPTA will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Bristol Fourth of July parade.
The transportation agency said the route will use the following detour:
- Inbound trips — Travel regular route to Bristol Ferry Road, turn right onto Metacom Avenue, left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Hope Street, and then resume regular route.
- Outbound trips — Travel regular route to the intersection of Hope Street and Gooding Avenue, turn left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Metacom Avenue, bear left onto Bristol Ferry Road, and then resume regular route.
Flex Services will not be available except for Route 203 (URI/Narragansett/South Kingstown) which will run on the holiday schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All RIPTA offices will be closed except for the Newport Transportation Center. The RIPTA customer service kiosk in the center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
