Raynham woman, man dead in break-in turned murder-suicide

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts authorities are investigating a reported murder-suicide at a Raynham home early Tuesday.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said police responded to 911 calls from a woman who had been shot in the chest and another tenant at a house on Ruth Ellen Road just after 2 a.m.
Raynham officers found the woman, 30-year-old Tatiana Tavares, and the apparent shooter, 43-year-old Scott Swale of Easton, dead in Tavares’ bedroom.
Authorities believe Swale broke into the house by shattering a sliding glass door and shot Tavares in her bed while she was sleeping.
Swale then fatally shot himself in the head.
Authorities said the two were in an on again, off again relationship for about a year.
The investigating is ongoing.
