23-year-old thrown from motorcycle, killed in highway crash

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said Friday that a motorcyclist was killed after being thrown from their bike on Interstate 91 in Springfield.

According to police, the 23-year-old motorcyclist on their 2007 Kawasaki model bike was traveling southbound on I-91 when it struck the rear end of a Jeep SUV.

Officials said the motorcyclist, who remains unidentified at this time, was thrown from their bike and struck a stationary post. The operator succumbed to their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.

No further information was immediately released.
