Dorchester man who pointed a gun while riding a scooter held without bail

MATTAPAN, Mass. (WLNE) — The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said that a man who pointed a gun at several people while riding a scooter in Mattapan is being held without bail.

Marlon Alexander was charged with illegal firearm and ammunition possession, illegal possession of a loaded firearm, receiving stolen property, possession of Class B substance and operating after license suspension.

The 30-year-old was accused of pointing a handgun at a woman while driving a scooter after she honked at him on June 26. Another person called 911 and reported that a man matching Alexander’s description pointed a gun at them while riding a scooter.

He allegedly fled from police when they tried to apprehend him, and struck a police cruiser’s front bumper with his scooter.

Officers searched Alexander and found a black .380-caliber Glock 42 that was reported stolen in Manchester, New Hampshire in February 2022. They also discovered a bag of unidentified white substance they believe was crack cocaine.

A judge found Alexander to be dangerous and ordered he be held until at least Nov. 3. He will return to court for a probable cause hearing on Aug. 10.
