Water main construction in Johnston to run until September

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Water alerted Johnston customers Friday of water main replacement construction work on Central Avenue that will run until late September.

A new transmission main is being installed from Bishop Hill Road to about 1341 Central Ave.

Chris Hunter, who’s with Providence Water, said the work is expected to disrupt normal traffic.

Final restoration is expected to happen in late fall 2023 or early spring 2024.
