2 arrested after leading police on car, foot chase in Wrentham

WRENTHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Wrentham Police Department said Tuesday that two people are in custody after trying to evade officers in a stolen truck.
According to the department, they responded to a possible larceny in progress at a CVS.
When police arrived to the scene, they said to suspects left the scene in a pickup truck that was reported stolen out of Brockton.
Officials said the truck took off in the direction of Route-1A towards Wrentham after police attempted to stop it.
The truck continued driving recklessly at a high rate of speed towards Wrentham Center, forcing police to close roads near Randall Road to protect other drivers and pedestrians in the center.
Police said their roadblock prevented the truck from entering the center; however, it continued down Randall Road into Sweatt Field where it drove in circles before stopping at the end of a dirt road.
Authorities said both suspects fled the car and ran into the woods and lead police on a chase through multiple neighborhoods before being apprehended.
One was caught shortly after exiting the truck and the second suspect was caught around 7:30 p.m. when police found him hiding in heavy brush.
One of the suspects also had a felony record and is wanted in two other jurisdictions, police said.
The identities of the two suspects were not immediately released.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
