New England Patriots 2023 training camp opens
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The New England Patriots will start training camp Wednesday with their first public appearance, giving fans a look at a somewhat new team.
Some familiar faces returned to Gillette Stadium on Tuesday for annual physicals and to settle in before the first day of practice.
The new faces in Foxborough this year, including first round draft pick Christian Gonzalez and wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, are hoping to make a difference.
Fans are also hyped for the return of offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien.
The training camp will include how to help Mac Jones progress in his third year.
The highest priority this training session, according to 16-year veteran and special team captain Matthew Slater, is the team finding its identity as soon as possible.
Coach Bill Belichick said Jack Jones will be able to play this season as he goes through legal negotiations after his arrest last month.
