Odds are in Patriots’ favor for Super Bowl 53

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The odds are looking good for the Patriots to clinch another Super Bowl.
“All of the mathematical models and predictive models are suggesting, for the most part, that the Patriots are going to win,” explained Catherine Roberts, the executive director of the American Mathematical Society.
Roberts says statistics-wise, New England is favored to win by 2.5 points, with 56.5 points scored between the two teams.
“The odds really are that the Patriots won’t be the first to score when we’re thinking about the first quarter of the game,” Roberts said. “The odds favor the Rams.”
The odds aren’t in the Patriots favor for the coin toss, either. The team has only won three of them in ten Super Bowls – but that wasn’t a bad thing. “The three times that they won the toss, they lost the game,” said Roberts.
The prime time game is also a prime number, 53 – the first prime number Super Bowl that Patriots have played. Roberts thinks that’s a good sign. “Tom Brady is certainly still in his prime,” Roberts gleaned. “We’re just sure that that gives us a nice boost and a nice chance of winning.”
