Rhode Island man suffers life-threatening injuries after car accident in Bourne

BOURNE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bourne Police Department said that a Rhode Island man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Friday.
The department said that police and fire crews were dispatched to the area of Trowbridge Road around 4:30 p.m. in response to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Once there, crews found the pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, was suffering from life-threatening injuries, alongside two cars.
“Two vehicles were involved, a Toyota Highlander operated by a 57-year-old female from Bourne and a Honda Rav4 operated by a 20-year-old male from San Diego, California,” the department said on social media.
The man was transported to a trauma center by Boston MedFlight helicopter, while both drivers were cooperative.
No other injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
