Centerville man killed in rollover collision

TOPSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said that a man was killed after a three-car crash on Route 95.
Spokesman David Procopio said that police responded to a crash in Topsfield around 4:30 p.m.
Procopio said that the crash involved a 2008 GMC Acadia SUV that turned into the left lane and came to a sudden stop when traveling southbound.
The Acadia was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet Impala that attempted to stop when the car decelerated.
The Impala then struck a 2006 Chevrolet Express Van that tried to move into the left lane to avoid being hit.
Procopio said that the van left the roadway and slid across the grass median, eventually rolling over one-and-a-half times.
Two passengers were ejected from the van: 44-year-old Valkisergio Costa Silva, of Centerville, who was declared dead at the scene, and a 30-year-old male passenger who suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to Boston Medical Center.
The one other passenger suffered serious injuries, while the last suffered minor injuries, and both were transported to area hospitals. The Impala driver was unharmed.
Procopio said that two men then fled from the SUV: 30-year-old David Guzman, of Lynn, who was apprehended by the police, and a currently unidentified man who police are still searching for.
Guzman was charged with interfering with a police officer. His court appearance is pending.
Procopio said the other man was described as a Hispanic male who was wearing a gray T-shirt.
The crash remains under investigation.
