One dead after pedestrian crash in Easton

EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) – Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday afternoon in Easton.
According to Easton Police, a 64-year old Easton man was struck by a vehicle in the area of 70 Washington Street around 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the victim was pulled over in the breakdown lane attempting to change a tire when he was struck by the driver of a pickup truck plow.
When Police and Fire arrived on scene, the victim was found suffering from life-threatening injuries. Two bystanders were performing CPR on the victim when paramedics arrived.
The victim was treated on scene and then transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and was cooperative with police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Easton Police said Route 138 will be closed from Rockmeadow Road to Dickerman Road as the crash is investigated. Drivers are asked to seek alternative routes.
