While no one hits Mega Millions jackpot, a Massachusetts resident still nets big win
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Well, you’re not a billionaire but the good news is you get another chance Friday after nobody matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s $1.1 billion Mega Millions drawing.
While no one won the billon dollars Tuesday night, someone in Massachusetts did match all five of the numbers to win $1 million.
That winner matched all five of the white balls: 8, 24, 61, 45 and 30. However, they didn’t get the Mega ball of 12 correct.
The Massachusetts Lottery has yet to announce where that million dollar ticket was purchased from — one of seven across the country to correctly match five of the numbers.
In Rhode Island, no one won any big prizes on Tuesday night’s drawing that now climbs to an estimated $1.25 billion on Friday, which is one of the largest in U.S. history.
No one has won the Mega Millions jackpot since April 18, allowing it to grow larger and larger. Tuesday night’s drawing for $1.1 billion was the 30th straight without a winner.
