One dead, 8 injured following serious crash in Seekonk on Rt. 195 Sunday Night
One woman is dead and eight people are injured following a serious crash on Rt. 195 east in Seekonk Sunday night.

SEEKONK, MASS. (WLNE) -One woman is dead and eight people are injured following a serious crash on Rt. 195 east in Seekonk Sunday night.
Police say a pick-up truck encountered traffic slowing down a mile down the road as a result of a car fire near Exit 1 around 8 p.m.
The driver of the pick-up truck applied emergency braking and hit the rear of a 2001 Chrysler 300. That caused the Chrysler to be pushed into the rear of a 2005 Acura TSX, which pushed the Acura into the rear of a 2017 Lexus NX, according to Massachusetts State Police.
The right rear passenger of the Chrysler was transported to RI Hospital where she was pronounced dead soon after her arrival.
Two additional occupants of the Chrysler, the two occupants of the Silverado, and the four occupants of the Acura were all taken to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Lexus was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
