Fall River woman accused of robbing auto parts store, possessing unlicensed firearm

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said a woman was arrested for allegedly stealing from the safe of an auto parts store and possessing a firearm without a license.
Rosa Rodriguez Cruz was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and firearms violations.
Deputy Chief Barden Castro said that the O’Reilly Auto Parts on Rhode Island Avenue was reportedly robbed on the morning of Aug. 4.
Castro said that the owner told police that the store’s safe room had been ransacked and money was stolen.
Police then performed an investigation, which included interviewing people in the area.
Castro said that police allegedly found evidence that provided probable cause to arrest 37-year-old Cruz.
He added that when police searched the suspect’s home, they found an unsecured and unloaded polymer 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine.
Cruz is also accused of not having a license to possess either the firearm or the ammunition.
