Black smoke billows from vehicle fire on I-195 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Black smoke billowed from a vehicle fire on Interstate 195 west in Providence on Monday.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said the left lane was temporarily blocked, causing heavy traffic at exit 1D around 12:30 p.m.

State police said no one was hurt.

No further information was immediately released.
