Laura’s Bar and Grill offers special drink menu to raise money for Smithfield Little League
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — A popular restaurant in Smithfield is doing their part to help raise funds for the Smithfield All-Stars as they compete in the Little League World Series.
Laura’s Bar and Grill rolled out a specialty drink menu this week to raise money for the team.
“We were trying to think of ideas on what to do and how we can best raise money for them, and we thought why not do it this way,” said bar manager Jessica Maynard.
Maynard said the menu features five alcoholic drinks, with one non-alcoholic beverage as well.
“We just brought the girls out for lunch, and we decided to come here to support the Smithfield Little League,” said Smithfield resident Chelsea Martin.
Martin enjoyed the “dugout punch” in honor of her godson, who plays on the team.
“My godson, number three, is on the team, and I’ve been following them since they started this journey,” Martin said.
Every drink on the menu is green and gold in true Smithfield fashion.
“People keep ordering them, I keep seeing green drinks whenever I look around,” said Maynard.
A majority of the staff at Laura’s were born and raised in Smithfield, so Maynard said it’s important for them to show their support.
“Having team spirit and all the local charities, teams, has always been huge for us, we love to get back to the community,” Maynard concluded.
The specialty drink menu will be available for as long as the team is competing in the Little League World Series, and on Wednesday, Maynard said the game will be on every television in the restaurant.
