Raynham first responders reunited with kitten they rescued from storm drain

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — First responders in Raynham rescued a stray kitten from inside a storm drain on Sunday.
According to the Raynham Fire Department, they responded to the area of Princess Lane just after midnight and found that a five-week-old kitten had fallen into the drain and could be heard making small noises.
Officials said because of the lack of light, they decided to wait until morning to continue rescue efforts. Crews lowered a pet crate, food and water into the drain before leaving to ensure the kitten’s safety overnight.
When crews returned at approximately 7:30 a.m., and could hear the kitten again, Firefighter Dom Kuran climbed down the eight-foot deep storm drain and was able to carry the kitten up to safety.

The kitten, named “Storm” by the responders, is currently staying with Raynham Animal Control and a number of potential adopters are being considered.
The responders involved in the rescue efforts were reunited with Storm shortly after the rescue.
