PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Rhode Island Department of Health has announced that a fourth individual associated with the St. Rafael Academy trip to Italy has tested negative for the coronavirus.

A press release Tuesday evening described that individual as a woman in her 30s who is a staff member at Achievement First Academy in Providence.

Earlier Tuesday, the department announced that a Massachusetts resident who was on that trip had tested presumptive positive. That testing had been done by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, who made the announcement Monday night.

The individual was described as a female in her 20s who is recovering at her home in Norfolk county.

She is considered a presumptive positive case because the result is pending confirmation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is coordinating the contact tracing for this individual and communicating closely with RIDOH, according to the statement.

The latest information means that three individuals in total associated with the Pawtucket school’s trip to Italy have tested presumptive positive for the virus.
