SNE weather turning cooler this week; tropics heating up

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the nice weather!

Temperatures warmed up on Sunday and remained there today. It was also quite humid, and a bit hazy due to upper-air wildfire smoke particulate.

All of those things are about to change as a weak front moves through early tonight. It will bring a few quick spotty showers before skies clear by morning.

Expect bluer skies, cooler temperatures and lower humidity Tuesday and Wednesday – aka gorgeous days!

Clouds will increase on Thursday and showers return by night and into Friday. Fortunately, this isn’t looking like a severe weather event like the last several storms have brought.

Showers will exit early on Saturday and the weekend looks mostly good, but even a bit cooler. Our forecast calls for low 70s.

In other news, the tropical Atlantic has awoken! We now have three names storms – Emily, Gert and Franklin, with potentially an ‘H’ and ‘I’ storm eminent.

Have a great evening!
