Exceptional weather today, rain by Friday…

A splendid weather day is on tap as high-pressure peaks over the region. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The airmass associated with this high gives us a taste of early fall conditions as warm temperatures pair with low humidity. Clear and dry weather hangs on overnight.
Thursday looks serviceable, with dry weather persisting through the daytime hours. However, clouds will increase as the high slides offshore and low-pressure approaches from the Great Lakes. Showers start to pop up during the evening, and a more widespread area of rain arrives overnight. Showers and thunderstorms continue on Friday and while we’re not currently expecting any storms to turn severe, nonetheless you’ll want to be weather aware.
As we start the weekend a trailing front will cross the region that will result in a decent amount of clouds and the risk of a shower or two Saturday, but it won’t be a washout. Sunday will be the better of the weekend days with a mix of sun and clouds.
