Foxborough man dies in crash on I-95 in North Attleborough

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police announced the death of a victim involved in a serious accident that happened Monday on Interstate 95 in North Attleborough.

According to police, at approximately 4:15 p.m., troopers responded to the multi-vehicle crash in the area of exit 7. Witnesses told officers that a third car involved in the crash initially stopped, then fled the scene.

Officials said a 2006 Buick LaCrosse, driven by a 50-year-old Cranston man, was involved in a collision in the southbound lanes of 95 with a Cadillac Escalade, driven by a 61-year-old man from Providence.

The driver of the Cadillac lost control after being struck, entered the median, and struck a 2015 Jaguar XJ, driven by a 58-year-old man from Foxborough, police said.

Authorities said the crash between the Cadillac and the Jaguar caused serious injuries to both drivers. The driver of the Jaguar was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

Police further collected information on the Buick that fled the scene of the crash then broadcasted it to nearby police stations.

Officers later located the suspect Buick in Attleboro and made contact with the man who as driving it.

The investigation remains ongoing.
