Seekonk neighborhood asked to shelter in place amid police response to mental health call

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — Residents of a Seekonk neighborhood were asked to shelter in place Sunday as police responded to a person experiencing a mental health crisis.
Police said the situation was contained to one residence.
Members of the community were advised to avoid the area.
ABC 6 News crews on the scene said that state police were also responding and had set up a headquarters at the George R. Martin Elementary School.
Seekonk police provided an update at about 7 p.m. saying the stating the shelter in place order had been lifted, and the situation was safely resolved.
No further information was released.
