Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after he was hit by a car in Rehoboth.

The crash happened at about 6 a.m. Thursday on Winthrop Street.

Police said the 68-year-old East Providence man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was riding the motorcycle when he was rear-ended by the car. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

The driver of the car, identified as 19-year-old Gyanna Kirwin, wasn’t injured, police said.

Kirwin, who’s also from East Providence, was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
