Attleboro Public schools close next week

After consultation with the Health department and other officials.

ATTLEBORO, MASS (WLNE) – Attleboro Public schools announced they will be closed for the entire week of March 16 through March 20 after learning a student was placed into self-quarantine pending coronavirus test results.

The test results are expected to arrive early next week, and the student has no known risk factors but was tested due to yet-attributed symptoms.

According to the school department, the action is taken as a mitigation measure to halt person-to-person spread of Coronavirus as part of an effort to prevent community spread.

The school will continue to assess conditions and make a decision the following week about whether to extend the cancellation past the 20th is deemed necessary.

Attleboro Public Schools is asking for the community’s patience as they navigate the evolving circumstances of COVID-19.
