2 Providence shooting victims drive themselves to Hasbro Children’s Hospital
Around midnight Friday, two people were hospitalized after being shot in Lower South Providence in the area of Pavillion Ave.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Around midnight Friday, two people were hospitalized after being shot in Lower South Providence in the area of Pavillion Ave.
Providence Police were called to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where police found two victims already inside Hasbro and being treated for an unknown amount of gunshot wounds.
Commander Thomas Verdi said, “Officers found a car parked and running in the hospital parking lot upon arrival, of which they had processed and towed.”
Police identified the victims as a 17-year-old male and 20-year-old, Jonsue Rivera Lopez. Both victims live in Providence.
Lifespan confirmed that both Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital were put on lock-down from 12:30 am until 4:00 am.
The 17-year-old was in serious, but stable condition at Hasbro and Rivera who sustained more serious injuries was in critical but stable condition and was later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital.
Based on information gathered by Providence Police, police responded to the area of 125 Pavillion Ave where they were able to locate a scene and multiple shell casings.
