Narragansett cancels Calamari Festival because of stormy weather concerns

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Calamari Festival in Narragansett was canceled ahead of weather concerns as Hurricane Lee heads toward New England.
The Narragansett Chamber of Commerce announced the cookoff and music events were held off due to the possibility of winds exceeding 38 miles per hour.
“We know this is less than ideal, but the safety of our attendees, our vendors, our staff, and all that would be visiting this weekend is our main concern,” the Chamber wrote in a social media post.
The festival was set for Friday and Saturday at Veterans Park next to The Towers.
All ticket holders will be issued refunds.
At this time, there are no set plans to reschedule.
