Man seriously hurt in Providence shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man is in serious condition after a shooting in Providence on Thursday night.

Providence police said the shooting happened at the corner of Pearl and Pine streets.

Police said the man was shot once and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

There was a significant police presence on Friendship and Pearl streets around 10 p.m.

An ABC 6 News crew on scene saw police tape blocking the road and evidence markers on the ground.

No further information was immediately released.
