2 Johnston High School students face charges after school resource officer was assaulted

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Two high school students were arrested after a school resource officer was assaulted on Thursday morning, police said.
Officers were sent to Johnston High School at about 10 a.m. for a report of two disorderly students.
One of the students was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
The second student was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct in connection to the alleged assault of the SRO.
The SRO and the students did not sustain injuries.
No further information, including the names of anyone involved, was released.
ABC 6 News also reached out to Johnston Public Schools for a statement and has not heard back.
