Two people trapped in Providence City Hall elevator

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Providence said two people were trapped in an elevator inside of City Hall today after it stopped between floors.
According to the city, two people were in the elevator when it stopped service between the second and first floor.
The Providence Fire Department was able to rescue to the two people from inside.
It was not immediately known how long the two were in the elevator for. No injuries were reported.
In response to the incident, the city issued a brief statement which reads, “Our elevators are inspected regularly, with the most recent inspection completed in August by both the Department of Labor and Training and our private vendor.”
