Rhode Islanders can get their shark license plates this weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Atlantic Shark Institute announced that their charity shark license plates will start appearing on cars on Saturday.
Officials said that the plates will be available to those who ordered them starting Saturday, Sept. 30, through Sunday, Oct. 1.
Distribution will be done by last name alphabetically, on Saturday, residents with last names beginning with A to M will get their plates and on Sunday, Oct. 1, residents with last names beginning with N to Z will get theirs.
In order to pick up your plate, you must bring your driver’s license and old plates or registration certificate.
Those unable to attend the event will be able to get their plates from the DMV in Cranston after Oct. 10. No appointment is needed for plate pickup.
